Fire crews are fighting a scrub fire in the Auckland suburb of West Harbour which can be seen from the other side of Waitemata Harbour.
A Fire Service spokesperson said the blaze started about 8pm and had spread over about 400 square metres.
She said smoke could be seen from the other side of the Waitemata Harbour.
Three appliances were initially at the scene but one had left as the remaining crews had the fire under control.
