Police have recovered the body of a missing fisherman in a lake near Rotorua.
Edward MacDougall, 77, went missing after going fishing at Lake Rotoehu on Saturday.
Senior sergeant Malcolm Collins says Mr MacDougall, from Pukehina in the Bay of Plenty, was seen heading out on the water with a lifejacket.
But Mr Collins says the lifejacket was located away from the body and it's possible its fastenings hadn't been done up.
Mr Collins says the death has been referred to the coroner.
