Fire hits medical centre

4:05 pm on 26 February 2014

The staff of Masterton's medical centre had to be evacuated on Tuesday night when fire ripped through the roof of their Lincoln Rd building.

The fire broke out at about 6.30pm and it took 34 firefighters about four hours to bring it under control.

It's thought an electrical fault may have been the cause.

Medical staff salvaged some equipment and hope to be operating out of premises across the road from Wednesday.
