Wendy Maree Whitehead, who's 57, was found guilty in the Nelson District Court of eight fraud charges.

She was given 10 months home detention and 160 hours community service, and has been ordered to repay the $213,000 to ACC.

An ACC spokesperson said after Whitehead's husband was killed in a farm accident she received weekly payments which would have continued until she turned 65, remarried, or entered a de-facto relationship.

She began a de-facto relationship in 2003, but did not tell ACC and continued receiving compensation until 2010.

Whitehead has since repaid the money.
