Blaze at Newtown joinery out

8:16 pm on 23 June 2014

A blaze fire at a joinery in the Wellington suburb of Newtown is out but fire crews will remain at the scene into the night.

The fire at The French Door Factory, on the corner of Mansfield and Russell Terrace, started in a hopper just before 5pm on Monday.

A Fire Service spokesperson says there was concern the blaze would spread because the joinery is very close to other buildings.

Three crews would stay there until they are sure the fire is completely out, he said.
