Police are searching for one or more people who stole firearms from a rural property in south Taranaki overnight while occupants slept inside.
Police are still confirming how many firearms were taken, but they said one was a military-style semi automatic weapon.
The offender, or offenders took the weapons from the Okaiawa house in the early hours of this morning, police said.
They are urging anyone who saw suspicious activity near Okaiawa last night to contact them.
