A man has been arrested for seriously assaulting a two-month old baby in Otago.
The Palmerston baby was taken to Dunedin Hospital on 10 April with a brain injury and multiple fractures to her limbs.
Police said they had arrested and charged a 30-year old man in relation to the assault of the child.
They said a significant investigation had been carried out over the last five weeks by members of the Dunedin Police Child Protection Team.
The man is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court this afternoon on four charges, which include wounding causing grievous bodily harm.
