A fire that engulfed a two-story house in the Wellington suburb of Johnsonville yesterday has destroyed the ground floor.
Firefighters remain at the scene last night damping down hotspots.
The alarm was raised just before 9pm, said a spokesperson for the Fire Service.
No one was at home when the fire started.
The spokesperson said when four fire units arrived, the dwelling was already fully engulfed in flame.
The Fire Service believes the fire started in the ground floor of the two story property.
