Police have named the two boaties who remain missing after they failed to return from a fishing trip in the Catlins yesterday.
They are Whetuki Sam Kopua, 77, and Matekino Lucy Burling, 60, both from Owaka.
Their upturned boat was found near Nugget Point this morning, but the pair remain missing.
They were last seen leaving the Catlins Heads on their pontoon-style, 5-metre Kiwi-Kraft boat about 8.30am yesterday and had been due home before dark. Their vehicle and trailer were still at the launch site.
Police said a boat had been found just south of Nugget Point earlier today but the pair were still missing.
A water and air search of the area was carried out yesterday, and searchers today concentrated on the area where the boat was found.
