A 17-year-old man has been arrested in Northland following the assault of a one-year-old child.
Police say baby has a broken arm and bruising to the head.
They say a 26-year old woman was also injured when she was stabbed with a fork.
The accused teenager is due to appear in the Kaikohe District Court on Thursday, facing domestic violence charges.
They include male assaults female, assault with intent to injure, wounding with intent to injure and threatening to kill.
