A teenager has been injured while jumping from a burning house in Northland after trying to put the flames out.
The 16-year-old boy is being treated for cuts to his arm from leaping out of a single-storey window at a house in Mangonu
The Fire Service says the boy lives next door and when he noticed the flames he smashed a window to try to get in.
He then realised the fire was too big to extinguish and had to jump out the window.
