Driver charged over fatal Masterton crash

The driver of a car which crashed and killed a 23-year-old passenger in January has been charged with excess breath alcohol causing death.

Aimee Maree Wilson died instantly when the car hit a power pole in a late-night crash, 10 kilometres north of Masterton.

Another woman and a male passenger were hospitalised while the 21-year-old man driving the car was uninjured.

Police have charged him with one count of excess breath alcohol causing death, and two counts of excess breath alcohol causing injury.

The man was due to appear in Masterton District Court on Monday.
