Cyclists will get their first chance in December to legally ride over Auckland's Harbour Bridge.
The Transport Agency has approved a series of events to be staged using the bridge on the second Sunday in December.
The rides range from family events to a 110-kilometre race, and all will include the North Shore busway.
The only previous large-scale cycle crossing was a protest two years ago in which thousands of people defied the authorities and walked or rode over the bridge demanding the addition of cycle and pedestrian access.
