A 15-year-old boy has been charged following a stabbing incident in the Hauraki Plains town of Paeroa last week.
A 25-year-old man was stabbed and his sister, aged 20, attacked while walking through a park after they got involved in a verbal altercation with three men and a woman on Thursday.
Police say the two were then followed and the man was stabbed with an unknown object at least three times and his sister punched.
The accused appeared in the Hamilton District Court on Saturday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and male assaults female.
He was remanded in custody for a bail hearing on Monday.
