Dunedin police are investigating a violent, armed robbery of a dairy early on Monday morning that left two people injured.
Police say two heavily disguised people arrived at the Regent Night and Day store in a stolen Subaru station wagon at 12.45am.
One of the pair knocked a bystander outside unconscious, then both attacked an employee and left with cash and cigarettes.
Police say one of the two was armed with a pistol while the other had a large kitchen knife.
Officers are asking for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.
