Five people are to appear in Hamilton Youth Court following an attack on a man in an inner city apartment on Saturday.
All are charged with grievous bodily harm, assault with a weapon, threatening to kill and theft.
One of the girls is aged 13 and another 14.
Police say the accused were at the apartment with the man before turning on him and holding him captive for over an hour.
They say he was gagged and repeatedly beaten before he managed to escape.
The complainant has a fractured cheek, severe bruising. He is now at home after being discharged from hospital.
