A 64-year old man has been charged with arson in relation to a house fire in the remote Coromandel Peninsula settlement of Kennedy Bay.
The Fire Service responded to a callout about 4.30am on Friday 23 September.
Police say a scene examination determined the fire was deliberately lit.
The accused, who is from Kennedy Bay, faces two charges of arson.
