Rose garden spared the axe

Hamilton's Rogers rose garden has been spared the axe.

The city council had considered ripping it out as a way of cutting $2.2 million off its parks budget.

It says now that getting rid of the garden was just one option being considered by councillors as they sought to make savings of more than $14 million.
