A report on a long-term plan for Auckland has found local boards and council-controlled organisations have proposed little or nothing to improve the lives of Maori residents.
Auckland Council's draft ten-year plan will be adopted in June.
The report, commissioned by the council the board representing Maori in the city, says there are several Maori-specific proposals but the funding intended is inadequate.
It says the council has not asked Maori what they want in their communities and this is ill-advised.
Independent Maori Statutory Board chair David Taipari says they have not been able to put across their views on the plan and that has been disappointing.
He says they were able make a presentation to the council on Thursday and will now work with council officials to address some of the issues raised.
