Police in Waikato have denied claims of assault by two officers made by an Asian woman.
The woman, 56, who is in this country on holiday was involved in an incident at a Hamilton supermarket earlier this month.
The police say the woman resisted arrest and had to be restrained on the ground.
They say it was then she received an injury to her cheek.
Superintendent Win van der Velde says he expects the investigation to be completed no later than next week.
The woman has been charged with resisting arrest and disorderly behaviour and is yet to appear in court.
