Monday has been a good day for New Zealand rowers at the World Championships on Lake Karapiro.

Seven New Zealand squads go on to semifinals and five directly to final races.

As expected Mahe Drydale won his heat in the single sculls.

World champions Hamish Bond and Eric Murray in the coxless pair and Storm Uru and Peter Taylor in the lightweight double scull also progressed easily to the semifinals.

New Zealand's only adaptive rower, Danny McBride, won his heat in the shoulder and arms class.
