A rural mentoring programme developed in Waikato to provide guidance for new farmers will be rolled out for farmers in Canterbury and Southland, next month.
Pilots were run by AGFirst farm consultants for sheep, beef and dairy farmers in Waikato and the King Country. It has been developed using the Sustainable Farming Fund, as well as money from Organics Aotearoa New Zealand.
Registrations for will close at the end of this month and the programme will start in April.
AGFirst says the aim is to have the scheme rolled out to all areas over the next few years.
