Business is still booming for Rural Women New Zealand's aftersocks.
The organisation began selling the red and black socks more than a year ago to help raise funds for Canterbury earthquake victims.
It had planned to sell 1000 pairs of the socks, which are made in Canterbury from a New Zealand merino wool blend, but has now sold 19,000 pairs, raising about $110,000 for the Christchurch Mayoral Fund.
Rural Women spokesperson Jackie Edkins says sales are still strong and at this stage there is no end in sight to the project.
Ms Edkins says the project received the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand's 2012 premier award and sales have rocketed up again since then.
She says some socks have been sent as far afield as the United States and China.
