Farm sales so far this year are significantly up on last year, with 1439 farms sold to the end of last month.
The figure is 50% more than a year ago and, on an annual basis, the highest number since April 2009.
Latest Real Estate Institute figures show the median price for the past three months has also increased to almost $18,000 a hectare which is 22% higher than a year ago.
There's also been a 10% lift in lifestyle block sales compared with a year ago.
The median price is about 5% or $22,000 above last year, but has eased back slightly from the previous month's record high of more than $477,000.
