New face on Horticulture NZ board

10:06 am on 13 July 2011

Nelson fruit and berry grower Julian Raine is a new face on the board of the national horticulture industry body.

He joins existing Horticulture New Zealand directors Ru Collin of Hawke's Bay and Tony Ivicevich of Auckland who have been returned to the board in grower elections.

Manawatu potato grower Terry Olsen was also seeking a place, but missed out.

Julian Raine has been a grower since the early 1980s.

He is a partner in Wai-West Horticulture, which grows apples, boysenberries and kiwifruit on 140 hectares, and in Hinetai Hops, which grows blackcurrants and hops on 70 hectares in Nelson.
