Company to drop legal action against Zespri

12:16 pm on 18 October 2011

Turners Growers says it will drop legal action against Zespri due to severe pressure on the kiwifruit industry from the PSA disease.

The company will not go ahead with an appeal against a High Court decision last year, that upheld the regulations giving Zespri a kiwifruit export monopoly.

Turners Growers says it will continue with its appeal on the second part of its action against Zespri, to hear its claims under the Commerce Act.

A date for that appeal is yet to be set.
