Abercrombie optimistic he'll be on court come finals time

The injured Breakers player Tom Abercrombie is optimistic he'll be on court come Thursday night's opening match of the Australian National Basketball League final against Perth in Auckland.

The small forward strained his ankle in the closing stages of Saturday night's third and deciding semi-final win over Townsville.

Abercrombie won't train this week but believes he will be able to take the court as the Breakers chase back to back ANBL titles.

Abercrombie says while his ankle's still swollen and restricting his movement it's much better than it was a couple of days ago and he has every intention of playing on Thursday night.

Coach Andrej Lemanis says even if Abercrombie can't play he's confident they have plenty of depth in the squad to still win the first match in the best of three series.
