Carter says he could take on goal kicking duties now

Updated at 12:36 pm on 10 May 2012

The All Blacks first five Dan Carter says he hasn't put a timeframe on when he wants to resume goalkicking but says he could take on the role now for the Crusaders if he had to.

Carter's been playing at second five for the Crusaders since returning from the groin injury which he suffered in last year's World Cup.

He says he's still not back to full fitness and is happy for Tom Taylor to continue playing at first five and do the goal kicking.

But he says Taylor was unable to kick during this weekend's match against the Rebels in Melbourne he would take over.
