Nerves from home pressure vanish once Erakovic hits the court

7:42 pm on 30 December 2012

The New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic says she doesn't read the newspapers or watch the news when she prepares to compete at her home tournament, Auckland's ASB Classic.

As the lone local competing in the singles, Erakovic admits she feels the pressure and expectation to do well from the home fans but she says it's fine once she gets on court.

The Classic gets underway in earnest tomorrow with Marina Erakovic in action in the doubles draw - she'll start her singles campaign on Tuesday against a qualifier.
