The president of the World Anti-Doping Agency has dismissed Lance Armstrong's assertion that he did not take performance-enhancing drugs after his seventh and final Tour de France victory in 2005.

WADA chief John Fahey says the evidence from the United States Anti-Doping Agency shows variations in his blood that proves he was doping after 2005.

On Friday Armstrong admitted years of systematic doping in a television interview with chat show host Oprah Winfrey, but the disgraced American maintained he was clean when he made a comeback in 2009.

Fahey says the statute of limitations under US law might be relevant and Armstrong would not want to admit to anything in regards to his comeback that might be picked up under the US criminal code.
