The New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor was bowled for 19 as his Pune Warriors lost to fellow Black Cap Nathan McCullum's Sunrisers Hyderabad by 23 runs in the Indian Premier League.
Chasing 127 for victory, Pune was all out for 104 after South African star Dale Steyn took three wickets in the 18th over.
Taylor's Indian Premier League commitments mean he'll miss the Black Caps' England tour opener, a three-day warmup game at Derby, as will current captain Brendon McCullum.
Both will arrive the day before the second warmup match at Leicester against the English Lions.
