Barker not expecting boats to be damaged in LV regatta

Team New Zealand's hoping its shore crews won't have too many long nights repairing the four America's Cup boats being sailed in the Louis Vuitton regatta which starts in Auckland on Friday.

The New Zealanders along with Russell Coutts' BMW Oracle team are each providing two boats to be shared by the 10 teams in the fortnight-long regatta, and any serious damage could threaten the race schedule.

All the teams have had practice sessions largely without any breakages, and Team New Zealand skuipper Dean Barker says umpires will be giving clear instructions about not sailing too close.
