The Welsh halfback Dwayne Peel has been called up to the Wales Six Nations squad as cover for the injured Gareth Cooper.
Peel, a former captain and three-times a British Lion in 2005, was a surprise omission when the squad was announced two weeks ago, with Cooper and Mike Phillips, who missed the autumn test series through injury, chosen to fight it out for the number nine shirt.
However, Cooper picked up a knee injury in training on Saturday and is undergoing assessment and treatment ahead of the opening game of Wales's defence of the title away to Scotland on Feb. 8.
