Vettori confident Haddin fiasco won't hurt performance

11:56 am on 6 February 2009

The New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori is confident the controversy surrounding a controversial dismissal from the Chappell-Hadlee opener against Australia won't affect the performance of the Black Caps in game two today in Melbourne.

The Australian team has taken exception this week to Vettori's comments on Brad Haddin's conduct over the Neil Broom dismissal, saying they amount to the New Zealand captain calling the Australian wicketkeeper a cheat.

Vettori says he believes his side has moved on from the distraction.

He says they will need all their focus to win this second match to go up 2-0 in the series.

Meanwhile, an unchanged New Zealand squad for the match has been announced.

New Zealand: Daniel Vettori (Capt.), Neil Broom, Craig Cumming, Grant Elliott, Peter Fulton, Martin Guptill, Kyle Mills, Brendon McCullum, Iain O'Brien, Jeetan Patel, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor.

The 12th man will be confirmed prior to the start of play.
