Colin Montgomerie celebrated his 500th European Tour event as a professional by taking a share of the lead in the Andalucia Open after the first round.
Montgomerie said he had been a few gifts to celebrate his 500th tour event but his five under par 67 was the best.
It put him in a three way tie with fellow Briton Steven O'Hara and Frenchman Jean-Francois Lucquin.
Montgomerie, the eight-times European order of merit winner who has slid to 137th in the world rankings.
