The Manawatu Jets have beaten Hawkes Bay 107-93 in their National Basketball League match in Palmerston North.
The Jets forward Marcel Jones took a game-high 38 points leading his team to an unlikely victory after the recent news that their team mate Ben Hill would be transferring, ironically, to the Hawks for the remainder of the season.
Hill sat out the game as part of the transfer agreement reached between the Hawks and the Jets.
The Jets never lost a quarter with the help of 26 points from former Hawk Aidan Daly and 22 from Jamil Terrell.
It was 54-45 at half time.
