Mills to miss Scotland match

9:01 am on 6 June 2009

The New Zealand cricketers will be without pace bowler Kyle Mills for their opening Twenty20 World Cup match against Scotland at the Oval in London tonight.

Coach Andy Moles said Mills is recovering from a back injury and has responded well to treatment this week.

His condition will be monitored over the next few days before a decision is made on whether he plays in the game against South Africa on Tuesday night.

Jesse Ryder is expected to be able to take a full part in tomorrow night's match, after receiving pain relief treatment this week for a groin injury.
