Roosters coach fines himself for drunken incident in Queensland

The coach of the National Rugby League's Sydney Roosters, Brad Fittler, has fined himself ten thousand dollars after trying to gain access to the wrong Queensland hotel room.

Fittler was found by Townsville police, heavily intoxicated and wearing only shorts, early on Friday morning.

The police had been called by the female occupant of the room.

The former Roosters and Australian captain was returning to the Holiday Inn after a night out and says he mistakenly got out of the lift on the wrong floor.

The Roosters sit last on the NRL table and take on the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville tonight.

Earlier this year, Fittler was part of the committee which banned the Roosters star Willie Mason and Nate Myles for one match after they both admitted to having a few drinks on day non-prescribed by the NRL club.
