Stomach virus hits Queensland before Origin Two

5:51 pm on 24 June 2009

Queensland's State of Origin rugby league squad has been struck by a stomach virus with several players, including Nate Myles and Dallas Johnson, receiving medication for vomiting and diarrhoea.

The real concern is that they'll be dehydrated before tonight's match against New South Wales in Sydney.

Queensland hasn't named the other affected players and has brought no backup players into the squad for the second match. They lead the series 1-0.
