The New Zealand under-21 netball side will begin the defence of their title at the World Youth Netball championships in Rarotonga, Cook Islands this afternoon with a game against Barbados.
Twenty teams are taking part in the two-week competition which started yesterday.
New Zealand have two Carribean teams first up and coach Yvette McCausland-Durie says the problem for her side is height.
The Silver Ferns shooter Paula Griffins will lead the side.
