7:30 am on 14 September 2009

The Wellingtion Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert says his side's 1-all draw with the Victory in Melbourne is disappointing,.

Herbert says hIs players' application is impressive and a point isn't a bad reasult.

However they should have been able to finish off the defending champions side after dominating most of the match.

He says a in a repeat of their home draw with Adelaide they had Melbourne under pressure but lacked the clinical finish at critical times.

The Phoenix conceded an early goal from a Carlos Hernandez free kick but Tim Brown equalised in the30th minute.

Their next match is against Queensland in Wellington on Sunday.

Gold Coast United top the table on 13 points with Melbourne and the Phoenix eighth and ninth on six.
