New Zealand's Sacha Jones has won her first challenger tennis title, after taking out the US twenty five thousand dollar ITF Darwin Challenger tournament on Sunday.
18-year-old Jones, who entered the tournament with a WTA ranking of 312, beat
Australian qualifier Bojana Bobuscic 6-4 6-1 in the final.
On her way to the title Jones also accounted for Australia's former world Number eight, Alicia Molik, 6-3 7-6 in the semi-finals.
The previous week Jones was been beaten easily in straight sets by Molik at another Challenger event in the Northern Territory.
It's likely Jones will see her ranking improve to abour 270 once
the latest ranking points are added.
