The All Whites look set to keep to the same formation which earnt them a nil-all draw on the away leg of their football world cup qualifier against Bahrain for Saturday night's decider in Wellington, but the starting lineup could be different.

In Bahrain coach Ricki Herbert opted for a three-four-three formation and ran the same lineup at training on Wednesday, although Michael McGlinchey could earn a start in the midfield with Simon Elliot under an injury cloud and sitting out training.

It's been a rapid rise for the 22-year-old Glaswegian McGlinchey, who's come through the ranks at Celtic but was born in Wellington, heading back to Scotland with his parents when he was nine months old.

Four months ago McGlinchey joined the Central Coast Mariners in the A-league and it's just his third visit to New Zealand, but he says he feels very much at home in the cold and the wet of a Wellington training.
