Bay of Plenty bounced back to grab a share of the lead in a tightly fought second day of the Freyberg Masters men's provincial teams competition at Rotorua.
The home team lost its morning match against Canterbury but bounced back to beat Manawatu Wanganui in the afternoon to ensure a tight battle in division one.
After four rounds three teams share top spot with two wins and a half, with Bay of Plenty just ahead on a countback of games, taking advantage of local knowledge on the Springfield Club.
Canterbury and defending champions Wellington share the top placing with Bay of Plenty, but have of already had had their byes.
Taranaki and Auckland share the lead in division two with three wins, just ahead of North Harbour and Hawkes Bay.
