Blackcaps coach says batsmen must stay at crease for longer

9:55 am on 13 March 2010

The New Zealand cricket coach says his batsman must spend more time at the crease if they're to salvage some pride and win the fifth and final one dayer against Australia in Wellington today.

The Australian's have already won the Chappel-Haddlee series 3-1 but a win for the Blackcaps today would give the side a psychological edge heading into the two match test series.

Many of the Blackcaps batsmen have made solid starts recently only to give their wicket away cheaply with the New Zealander's failing twice to bat out their 50 overs.

The Blackcaps coach Mark Greatbach says that must change in Wellington today.
