Despite not having won the rugby world cup since 1987, the All Blacks have been installed as initial favourites by the New Zealand TAB, which has opened its World Cup betting.
New Zealand's the $2.20 favourite, followed by Australia at $4 and reigning champions South Africa at $4.75.
Samoa and Tonga are the rank outsiders at $500.
