The Tampa Bay Rays have cemented their status as major league baseball's best team in baseball this season by beating the World Series champion Yankees 10-6 in New York.
The Rays had dropped 11 of their last 15 games against the Yankees including their last seven in the Bronx but the win at Yankee Stadium improves their record to 29-11 and opens a four-game lead over their Amerian League East rivals.
