World record holder Usain Bolt overcame a slow start to power past Jamaican compatriot Asafa Powell and win their first 100 metres showdown of the season at the Paris Diamond League meeting.
Bolt's time of 9.84 seconds was the third fastest in the world this year.
New Zealander Valerie Vili's finished second in the shot put with a throw of 20.13 metres, just behind arch rival Nadezhda Ostapchuk of Belarus, who threw 20.78 metres.
