Pool feels short says Burmester

The signs are good for swimmer Moss Burmester who's seen as New Zealand's only real Olympic medal prospect in the pool at the Beijing Games.

Burmester says the pool feels short as he feels fast in the water.

All the pools are the same length, 50 metres, and Burmester, a Commonwealth Games gold medallist in the 200m butterfly, says he's in a similar frame of mind to Melbourne two years ago.

He also likes the feel of the Beijing pool in the surreal cube building.

Burmester's first race is on Monday and he will also compete in the 100m butterfly.
