New Zealand Cricket unsure how reconciliation with rebel league will eventuate

A thaw in the stand off between cricket's officially sanctioned India Premier League and the rebel Indian Cricket League could see the likes of fast bowler Shane Bond return to international matches for New Zealand.

Cricket's international governing body the ICC, says the Indian board of control which runs the IPL will meet with the ICL to discuss the situation and report back to them, which could then lead to the rebel league being officially sanctioned.

Bond is among nine New Zealand players involved in the rebel league and lost his contract with New Zealand cricket when he signed with them.

New Zealand cricket CEO Justin Vaughan says he doesn't know how the situation might unfold but doubts it could be a blending of the two competitions as he believes the standard between the ICL and IPL is too great.
